Bihar STET 2026 Notification Out: Apply Online for Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test Paper I & II

Paper I – Secondary Level

Paper I includes Hindi (101), Urdu (102), Bangla (103), Maithili (104), Sanskrit (105), Arabic (106), Farsi (107), Bhojpuri (108), English (109), Mathematics (110), Science (111), Social Science (112), Physical Education (113), Music (114), Fine Arts (115) and Dance (116).

A Special School Teacher category for Divyang/Special Education is also covered according to the applicable NCTE/RCI guidelines.

Paper II – Higher Secondary Level

Paper II subjects include Hindi (201), Urdu (202), English (203), Sanskrit (204), Bangla (205), Maithili (206), Magahi (207), Arabic (208), Farsi (209), Bhojpuri (210), Pali (211), Prakrit (212), Mathematics (213), Physics (214), Chemistry (215), Zoology (216), History (217), Geography (218), Political Science (219), Sociology (220), Economics (221), Philosophy (222), Psychology (223), Home Science (224), Commerce (225), Computer Science (226), Agriculture (227), Music (228) and Botany/Zoology – Life Science stream (229).

Bihar STET Eligibility Criteria 2026

Eligibility will be determined with reference to August 1, 2026. Candidates must be Indian citizens and possess qualifications from recognized universities or institutions.

The notification contains separate qualification provisions for subjects/categories including Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts, Dance and Special School Teacher. Applicants for these categories should check Parishisht-1 and Parishisht-2 of the detailed notification before applying.

Equivalence of qualifications will be determined by the Department in consultation with NCTE where applicable.

Age Limit

Candidates must have completed 21 years of age as on August 1, 2026.

Divyang candidates are eligible for an additional relaxation of 10 years. Ex-Servicemen are eligible for relaxation equivalent to their period of service plus three years, subject to the prescribed conditions.

Bihar STET 2026 Exam Fee

Candidates domiciled outside Bihar will be treated under the General category for the examination fee. Payment must be made online using the available Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI facility. The examination fee is non-refundable.

Bihar STET Exam Pattern 2026

Each Bihar STET paper will be conducted as an objective-type Computer Based Test.

Where an examination is held in multiple shifts, normalization will be applied and the final result will be determined on the basis of the normalized score.
