Chief General Manager Qualification

Two Chief General Manager vacancies are available under Post Codes 101 and 102.

Candidates require a first-class full-time Engineering degree in the prescribed discipline, which includes Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical or related engineering fields depending on the post. An ME/M.Tech/MS qualification is also required.

Applicants must possess more than 21 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including the prescribed experience in R&D, manufacturing or the sector relevant to the particular position.

The maximum age is 51 years, and the Grade IX pay scale is ₹1,20,000–2,80,000.

General Manager and Deputy General Manager Posts

The General Manager vacancy under Post Code 103 requires a first-class full-time Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Transportation Engineering or the discipline specified for the post. Candidates need more than 19 years of relevant experience, including experience in business development for infrastructure projects.

The General Manager post carries Grade VIII pay of ₹1,00,000–2,60,000 and an upper age limit of 48 years.

Three Deputy General Manager vacancies are available under Post Codes 104 and 105. Candidates require a first-class full-time degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Thermal or other prescribed Engineering disciplines, along with more than 16 years of relevant experience in areas including engine design, testing and calibration.

The DGM posts are in Grade VII with a pay scale of ₹90,000–2,40,000 and a maximum age of 45 years.

Assistant General Manager and Assistant Manager Qualification

One Assistant General Manager vacancy is available under Post Code 106. Candidates require a first-class full-time Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering and more than 13 years of relevant experience, including the prescribed project or contract management experience.

The post carries a Grade VI pay scale of ₹80,000–2,20,000, with an upper age limit of 42 years.

Three Assistant Manager vacancies are available under Post Codes 107 and 108. Applicants require a first-class full-time Engineering degree in Mechanical, Production, Railway Engineering or the specified related discipline and more than four years of relevant experience in rolling stock design or systems.

Assistant Manager is a Grade III position carrying ₹50,000–1,60,000, with a maximum age of 30 years.

Engineer Grade II Qualification

Three Engineer vacancies have been announced under Post Codes 109 and 110.

Candidates require a first-class full-time Engineering degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Rail Vehicle Technology or the discipline prescribed for the concerned vacancy.

Applicants must have more than two years of relevant post-qualification experience in areas such as door systems or crash simulation, depending on the position.

Engineer Grade II carries a pay scale of ₹40,000–1,40,000, with an upper age limit of 29 years.

Qualification Marks

The prescribed engineering and postgraduate qualifications must be obtained from recognized institutions.

First Class generally means a minimum aggregate of 60%. The qualifying marks requirement is relaxed by 5 percentage points for SC, ST and PwD candidates where applicable.

Candidates should ensure that their degree discipline and experience correspond exactly to the requirements of the specific post code.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The normal maximum age varies from 29 years for Engineer Grade II to 51 years for Chief General Manager.

Applicable relaxation includes five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC-NCL candidates and an additional 10 years for PwD candidates, subject to the conditions applicable to the vacancy.

The maximum age after applicable relaxation cannot exceed 57 years.

Selection and Shortlisting

Final appointment will also be subject to the prescribed pre-employment medical examination and completion of BEML’s joining formalities.
