Assam DLRS Land Record Assistant Recruitment 2026 Announced for 579 Vacancies, Apply Online by October 21

The Office of the Director of Land Records & Surveys (DLRS), Assam has announced recruitment for 579 Land Record Assistant (LRA) posts, with online applications opening on September 21, 2026. Candidates meeting the specialized RCCC training and computer proficiency requirements can apply until 5:00 PM on October 21, 2026.

The Assam DLRS Land Record Assistant Recruitment 2026 is being conducted under Advertisement No. DLR-11013(21)/50/2025/372 dated September 19, 2026. The latest advertisement supersedes the earlier notice No. DLR-11013(21)/50/2025/130 dated March 14, 2026.

The posts carry Pay Band-2 of ₹14,000–₹70,000 with Grade Pay of ₹6,200 plus admissible allowances. Selection will be through a two-stage competitive examination consisting of an 80-mark objective written examination and a 20-mark computer proficiency skill test.

Assam DLRS Recruitment 2026 Notification

The revised DLRS Assam recruitment notification covers 579 permanent government posts of Land Record Assistant. Vacancies have been distributed among UR, EWS, OBC/MOBC, OBC(T), ST(P), ST(H) and SC categories, with horizontal reservation provisions for PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

Assam Land Record Assistant Vacancy 2026

The recruitment covers 579 Land Record Assistant vacancies across the prescribed reservation categories.

The recruitment also provides 3% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates, covering 13 posts, and 173 posts for Ex-Servicemen within the applicable category totals.

RCCC Qualification and Computer Proficiency

Candidates must have completed the Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) training from the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati-40.

Applicants must also have been declared proficient in both Survey and Settlement subjects in the prescribed examination. The qualifying result must have been declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam before August 13, 2026.

In addition to the RCCC requirement, applicants must possess computer proficiency. The prescribed minimum typing speeds are:

• English: 30 words per minute
• Assamese/Bengali: 15 words per minute

These typing and computer skills will be assessed through the computer proficiency test forming the second stage of the selection process.

Age Limit

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years old as on January 1, 2026.

Age relaxation for candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories will be provided according to Government of Assam rules, including the provisions of OM No. ABP.6/2016/51 dated September 2, 2020.

Assam DLRS Land Record Assistant Salary

Selected Land Record Assistants will be appointed under Pay Band-2.

The recruitment notice specifies the government pay band and grade pay rather than a fixed monthly in-hand salary.

Assam DLRS LRA Selection Process

Selection will be conducted through a two-stage competitive examination carrying a combined total of 100 marks.

The first stage is an objective-type written examination carrying 80 marks. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their written examination performance will proceed to the 20-mark computer proficiency skill test.

Final merit will be prepared using the aggregate performance in both stages, subject to candidates obtaining the prescribed minimum qualifying marks and successfully completing document verification.

Written Exam Pattern

Paper-I will be an 80-mark objective examination covering Mathematics and Survey subjects.

The written examination will contain multiple-choice questions. A penalty of 0.25 marks will apply for each incorrect answer.

Computer Skill Test

Paper-II will be a practical computer proficiency test carrying 20 marks.

The skill test will assess the prescribed computer and typing proficiency, including English and Assamese/Bengali typing. Candidates will be called for this stage based on their performance in the written examination.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Candidates must separately obtain the prescribed minimum marks in the written examination and skill test.

Obtaining the minimum qualifying score does not by itself guarantee selection. Final merit will depend on aggregate marks and fulfilment of the remaining recruitment conditions.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the examination or selection process.

Candidates shortlisted for document verification will need to produce the original records along with the prescribed self-attested copies. These include the hard copy of the submitted online application and certificates establishing age, qualification, category and RCCC eligibility.
