AIIMS Gorakhpur Announces 24 Junior Resident Vacancies, Walk-in Interview on September 1

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur has announced a walk-in recruitment drive for 24 Non-Academic Junior Resident (Medical) posts. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. AIIMS/GKP/RECT/JR/2026-27/203 dated August 18, 2026, with appointments to be made purely on an ad-hoc basis for six months.

Eligible MBBS candidates can attend the AIIMS Gorakhpur Junior Resident walk-in interview on September 1, 2026. Candidates must report between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM at AIIMS Gorakhpur, while the interview process is scheduled to begin from 10:00 AM. Applicants reporting after the stipulated registration time will not be considered.

Candidates must have completed their compulsory rotatory internship and produce the Internship Completion Certificate. Registration with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council is mandatory before joining. The Junior Resident posts carry Level 10 pay with a minimum of ₹56,100 plus NPA.

AIIMS Gorakhpur has notified 24 Junior Resident vacancies across UR, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories. Five of the advertised vacancies include PwBD reservation.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an MBBS degree from an MCI-recognized institute.

Applicants must have completed the compulsory rotatory internship and should produce their Internship Completion Certificate during the recruitment process.

Registration with the Medical Council of India or the applicable State Medical Council is mandatory before joining AIIMS Gorakhpur.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for the Non-Academic Junior Resident post is 37 years.

Category-wise relaxation is applicable as follows:

For PwBD candidates, relaxation may extend to 10, 13 or 15 years depending on the applicable category.

AIIMS Gorakhpur Junior Resident Salary

Selected Junior Residents will be appointed in Level 10 of the applicable Pay Matrix.

The minimum pay is ₹56,100 plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) as admissible.

The engagement is purely on an ad-hoc basis for a period of six months.

Walk-in Interview Schedule

Candidates reporting after the stipulated registration time will not be considered for the selection process.

Selection Process

Selection will primarily be conducted through a walk-in interview followed by verification of candidates’ eligibility and documents.

If a large number of candidates report for the recruitment, AIIMS Gorakhpur may conduct a written examination for shortlisting.

Final engagement will be subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility and document requirements.

Candidates should bring their completed application and bio-data forms along with original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies.

Required documents include identity and address proof, proof of date of birth, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, MBBS mark sheets and degree, Internship Completion Certificate, Attempt Certificate, Medical Council Registration, applicable category certificate, fee payment proof and other relevant supporting documents.

Candidates may also carry details of publications, if any.

How to Attend AIIMS Gorakhpur Junior Resident Walk-in 2026

1. Download the prescribed Application Form (Annexure-A) and Bio-data Form (Annexure-B).
2. Fill both forms carefully with the required personal, academic and professional information.
3. Pay the applicable application fee through NEFT and retain proof of the transaction.
4. Enter the NEFT transaction reference number and payment date in the application form.
5. Arrange the required original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies.
6. Report at the Medical College Building/Administrative Block, AIIMS Gorakhpur on September 1, 2026 between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
7. Complete registration and document verification at the venue.
8. Appear for the interview from 10:00 AM onwards. A written examination may also be conducted if required due to the number of candidates.
