AAI NR 2026 Apprentice Recruitment Details Announced for 205 Graduate, Diploma and ITI Vacancies

Airports Authority of India (AAI), Regional Headquarters, Northern Region has opened applications for 205 apprenticeship seats for the 2026-27 training year. The recruitment covers Graduate Apprentice, Diploma Apprentice and ITI Trade Apprentice positions across engineering, non-engineering and technical trades, with selected candidates undergoing one year of apprenticeship training at airports and AAI establishments in the Northern Region.

The apprenticeship notification has been issued under Advertisement No. 01/2026/APPRENTICE/GRADUATE/DIPLOMA/ITI/NR. Applications must be submitted by September 16, 2026. Graduate and Diploma candidates are required to apply through the NATS portal, while ITI candidates have to submit their applications through the NAPS/Apprenticeship India portal.

The recruitment is restricted to eligible Indian nationals domiciled in Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh/Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Graduate and Diploma applicants must have passed their qualifying examination in 2024 or later. The notified monthly stipend is ₹15,000 for Graduate Apprentices, ₹12,000 for Diploma Apprentices and ₹9,600 for ITI Trade Apprentices.

AAI NR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification

AAI Northern Region is conducting the apprenticeship engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the training year 2026-27. The notified 205 seats are tentative and may be increased or reduced. Apprentices will be assigned to notified airports or establishments, and AAI states that a change in the allocated Airport/Station/Unit will not be entertained later.

The apprenticeship period will be 12 months from commencement of the apprenticeship contract. The notification also makes clear that apprenticeship training does not create a right to regular employment with AAI after completion of training.

AAI has distributed the 205 seats among engineering disciplines, BCA/B.Com and ITI trades. Civil Engineering carries the highest combined Graduate and Diploma intake with 32 seats, while 60 ITI seats are available across COPA/Stenography and Computer Hardware & Networking.

Educational Qualification

For Graduate Apprentice positions in the engineering disciplines, candidates should possess a full-time regular four-year Degree in Engineering in the relevant notified stream. Diploma Apprentice candidates require a full-time regular three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline. The qualification must be recognized by the competent authority as specified in the notification.

For ITI Trade Apprentice positions, candidates should possess an ITI/NCVT certificate in the relevant notified trade from a recognized institution. The available ITI disciplines are COPA/Steno and Computer Hardware & Networking.

The vacancy table also provides 10 Graduate Apprentice seats for BCA/B.Com candidates.

Qualification Passing Year

AAI has specifically prescribed a passing-year condition for Graduate and Diploma applicants. Candidates must have passed their Degree or Diploma in 2024 or after 2024 to be eligible.

For Graduate Apprentices, the notification gives the stipend breakup as ₹8,850 from AAI and ₹6,150 as the government share through DBT. For Diploma Apprentices, AAI’s share is ₹6,550 and the government share through DBT is ₹5,450.

Apprenticeship Training Locations

Selected candidates may undergo training at various airports and AAI establishments across the Northern Region. Locations listed in the notification include Adampur, Amritsar, Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bhatinda, Bikaner, Chitrakoot, CATC-Prayagraj, Dehradun, Farukkhabad, Fursatganj, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Hindon, Hissar, Halwara/Ludhiana, Jammu, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kangra-Gaggal, Kanpur, Khajuraho and Kullu-Bhuntar.

The notification additionally lists Kushinagar, Kishangarh, Kota, Lucknow, Leh, Moradabad, Muirpur, Meerut, Pantnagar, Pathankot, Pratapgarh, Pithoragarh, Prayagraj Airport, Safdarjung, Shravasti, Srinagar, Shimla, Udaipur and Varanasi, along with various AAI offices in New Delhi. Selected candidates will preferably be posted at Northern Region locations based on the registration location recorded on the portal.

Who Is Not Eligible?

AAI has specified several conditions concerning previous apprenticeship training and work experience. Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training, terminated apprenticeship midway, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship in another organization or AAI with the same qualification level are not eligible.

Candidates who have undergone apprenticeship training or acquired job experience of one year or more after obtaining the essential qualification are also not eligible for engagement as apprentices under this recruitment.

Selection Process

Provisional selection will primarily be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Where candidates have equal percentages, date of birth and thereafter the date of passing will be considered for determining seniority. CGPA will be converted into percentage according to the norms of the respective educational board or university.

Eligible or shortlisted candidates will be informed about document verification/interview through their registered email IDs. Candidates will have to produce original documents and provide self-attested and soft copies as required.

Final selection is subject to interview/certificate verification, verification of documents and medical fitness. Candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining, obtained from a Government Medical Officer or Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking. Merely attending document verification or the medical examination does not guarantee engagement as an apprentice.

How to Apply for AAI NR Apprentice Recruitment 2026

The application portal depends on the type of apprenticeship. Graduate and Diploma candidates must use NATS, while ITI Trade candidates must use the NAPS/Apprenticeship India portal. Only registered online applications submitted through the relevant portal will be considered.

For Graduate and Diploma Apprentices

  1. Register on the NATS 2.0 portal as a Graduate/Diploma pass-out student.
  2. Complete the required registration, e-KYC and profile information.
  3. Complete the educational, communication and training preference sections and submit the profile.
  4. Search for “Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR, New Delhi.”
  5. Use Establishment ID NDLSWC000002 to identify the AAI Northern Region establishment.
  6. Select the relevant apprenticeship opportunity and click the Apply button.
  7. Ensure that the application has been successfully submitted before September 16, 2026.

The NATS registration instructions attached to the notification state that candidates should keep a valid email ID, mobile number, Aadhaar number, qualifying Degree/Provisional Certificate and APAAR ID ready for registration. Aadhaar-based e-KYC and profile completion are part of the registration process.

For ITI Trade Apprentices

  1. Register as a candidate on the NAPS/Apprenticeship India portal.
  2. Activate the account and complete the candidate profile.
  3. Search for the relevant AAI apprenticeship opportunity.
  4. Find “Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR, New Delhi.”
  5. Use Establishment ID E05200700101 for the NAPS application.
  6. Select the applicable ITI trade and click Apply.
  7. Complete the application by September 16, 2026.

After successful submission, the portal should display a confirmation indicating that the candidate has successfully applied for the training position and will be contacted by the establishment based on availability.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates can apply for only one discipline. AAI states that applicants applying for more than one discipline will not be considered and their applications will be rejected.

The allocated airport, station or unit will be final, and requests to change the training location later will not be entertained. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Candidates are also responsible for getting their profiles verified by the respective Regional Board where applicable.

Selected apprentices will have to sign and accept their apprenticeship training contract through the NATS/NAPS portal immediately after joining AAI. The apprenticeship contract will automatically end after completion of the stipulated 12-month training period.

AAI has also clarified that engagement as an apprentice does not provide any right to claim regular employment with the organization. The apprenticeship programme does not create an obligation on AAI to provide employment or placement after training.
