The provisional answer key covers several papers included in the Common Educational Services Written Examination. These include General Knowledge in Series A and B and General English.

Subject-wise keys have also been issued for Anthropology, AO/optional paper, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Environment Science, Geography, Geology and Hindi.

Other subjects covered include History, Mathematics, Maths GT, Pedagogy of Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Tenyidie and Zoology.

Candidates should check only the paper and booklet series applicable to their examination.

How Candidates Can Estimate Their Marks

Candidates can use the provisional answer key to make an approximate assessment of their examination performance before the result is declared.

They should compare each response with the corresponding answer in the official key and award marks according to the marking scheme prescribed in Advertisement No. NPSC-1/CESE-2026.

If negative marking applies to the relevant paper, the prescribed deduction should be made for incorrect responses. Unanswered questions should also be treated according to the examination rules.

Candidates should not assume a marking formula if they have not confirmed it from the original advertisement. An estimated score is only for reference and may change if NPSC revises any answer after considering objections.

NPSC CESE Answer Key Objection Process

Candidates who disagree with any provisional answer must submit a complaint in the format prescribed by the Commission. The objection is required to be addressed to the Secretary, Nagaland Public Service Commission.

The complaint should contain the candidate’s details, examination information, the contested question and the answer being challenged. Candidates must also provide a proper justification or authoritative source supporting the alternative answer they are claiming.

NPSC requires the complaint documentation to follow Annexure I and Annexure II attached to the answer key notification. Candidates should ensure that all required fields are completed accurately.

Details Required in Annexure I

Annexure I serves as the complaint cover sheet. Candidates are required to provide the name of the examination, advertisement number and date, candidate name and roll number.

The form also requires the subject, question booklet series, information concerning the justification furnished, contact details, address and signature.

Candidates should also comply with the requirement concerning printed and electronic copies of the supporting material in the format specified by the Commission.

Details Required in Annexure II

Annexure II is used for the question-wise objection. Candidates must separately identify each disputed question.

The prescribed information includes serial number, contested question number, Series A or B where applicable, the answer shown in the Commission’s key, the answer proposed by the candidate and the candidate’s justification.

Candidates challenging more than one question should clearly present each objection so that the Commission can examine it independently.

Important Rules for Filing NPSC CESE Objections

The Commission has prescribed strict conditions for submitting answer key complaints. Candidates should submit a written application with complete information and supporting justification.

According to the provided notification details, complaints sent through post, email or other unapproved means will not be entertained. Candidates should therefore follow the submission method specified in the official NPSC notification and Annexures.

Both hard-copy and soft-copy material are required as prescribed. Incomplete applications may be rejected without consideration.

The Commission’s decision after examining complaints will be final, and further representation will not be entertained according to the stated instructions.

Is There an Objection Fee?

The answer key notification information provided does not mention an objection fee. Candidates should therefore avoid making any unofficial payment and should follow only the instructions published by NPSC.

If the Commission issues any clarification concerning submission procedure or fees before August 19, candidates should follow the latest official notice.

What Happens After the Objection Period?

After the objection deadline closes, NPSC will examine complaints that were submitted correctly and supported with relevant justification.

The Commission may retain or revise individual answers depending on its review. The final answers will then be used as applicable for evaluation and preparation of the examination result.

Candidates should continue monitoring NPSC notices for the final answer key, result or any further stage connected with the Common Educational Services recruitment.
