India Post has released the 1st Merit List for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026.

The Department of Posts (India Post) has officially released the India Post GDS 1st Merit List 2026 for recruitment to Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts across various postal circles in India. This recruitment drive was conducted to fill a total of 28,630 vacancies for GDS positions in multiple states and union territories.
The online registration process for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 started on 31 January 2026 and continued until 14 February 2026. After completion of the application process, candidates were shortlisted based on the marks obtained in their Class 10 examinations as per the merit-based selection process. The Department of Posts has now released the first merit list on 06 March 2026. Candidates who applied for the recruitment can check their names in the state-wise GDS merit list PDF available on the official India Post website.
Candidates applying for India Post GDS recruitment must have passed their Class 10 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with passing marks in Mathematics and English. Applicants must also possess a basic computer training certificate of at least 60 days duration and should have knowledge of the local language of the respective postal circle. The selection process for India Post GDS recruitment is based purely on the merit list prepared from Class 10 marks, followed by document verification of shortlisted candidates.
