HAL DT and MT Admit Card 2026 Released for 120 Posts; Written Exam on September 5 and 6

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has released the admit card for the Design Trainee (DT) and Management Trainee (MT) recruitment examination. The recruitment covers 120 vacancies across engineering disciplines under Advertisement No. HAL/CHRC-TM/RECT-02/2026. The HAL DT and MT Admit Card 2026 was scheduled for release on August 20, 2026, for candidates who successfully completed the online application process. The Computer Based Test will be conducted on September 5 and 6, 2026. HAL scheduled the admit cards for the Design Trainee and Management Trainee online examination to be available from August 20, 2026. Applicants who successfully submitted their forms can access their examination admit cards through the recruitment section of the HAL website.

The admit card contains essential information such as the candidate’s examination date, test centre, reporting time and examination-related instructions. Since the CBT is being held over two days, September 5 and September 6, candidates should check the exact date and session allotted to them on their individual admit cards.

HAL DT and MT Important Dates

HAL issued the recruitment advertisement on July 29, 2026, and opened online registration from 2:00 PM on the same day. Applications were accepted until 2:00 PM on August 14. The online examination is scheduled for September 5 and 6, with results expected on September 10, 2026.

Candidates shortlisted after the online examination are scheduled to attend interviews in Bengaluru from September 21 to September 25. HAL plans to publish the list of provisionally selected candidates on September 30, while induction training is scheduled to commence on October 29, 2026.

HAL DT and MT Vacancy Details

The recruitment drive has a total of 120 vacancies, equally divided between Design Trainee and Management Trainee positions. HAL has announced 60 vacancies for Design Trainees and another 60 for Management Trainees across eligible engineering disciplines.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Design Trainee and Management Trainee posts are required to possess a B.E. or B.Tech degree in the relevant engineering discipline. General category candidates are required to have secured at least 70% marks in the prescribed qualification.

The minimum qualifying marks are relaxed to 60% for eligible SC, ST and PwBD candidates. Applicants must satisfy the discipline-specific qualification and other eligibility conditions prescribed by HAL for the respective post.

HAL DT and MT Age Limit

The prescribed age range for HAL DT and MT Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 28 years. August 14, 2026, is the cutoff date for calculating the age of candidates.

Upper-age relaxation is applicable to candidates belonging to eligible reserved and special categories in accordance with the recruitment rules. Candidates should refer to the detailed notification for category-specific relaxation provisions.

HAL DT and MT Salary and Training

Candidates selected as Design Trainees and Management Trainees will undergo a structured training programme lasting 52 weeks. After successfully completing the required training and meeting HAL’s conditions, candidates will be absorbed in the Grade-II scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000.

The recruitment provides engineering graduates with an opportunity to begin their careers with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a major aerospace and defence public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence.

Selected candidates may be posted at HAL’s divisions, research and development centres and offices located at Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Hyderabad, Nasik, Koraput, Barrackpore, Lucknow, Kanpur, Korwa and other locations depending on organisational requirements.

HAL DT and MT Selection Process

The selection process begins with an Online Computer Based Test. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the online examination will be called for a Personal Interview, which is scheduled to be conducted in Bengaluru.

Candidates progressing further will also be required to undergo document verification and a pre-employment medical examination. Final appointment will depend on successfully meeting all eligibility, document and medical requirements prescribed by HAL.

The final merit assessment gives 85% weightage to performance in the Online Test and 15% weightage to the Personal Interview. Candidates are required to secure at least 50% marks in each applicable selection stage to qualify.

HAL DT and MT Exam Pattern 2026

The Online Computer Based Test will have a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes, or 150 minutes. A total of 160 multiple-choice questions will be included in the examination, divided into three parts.

Part I will contain 20 questions on General Awareness, while Part II will consist of 40 questions covering English and Reasoning. Part III carries the largest share of the examination and will include 100 questions from the candidate’s concerned engineering discipline.

The examination will be available in Hindi and English. Candidates should prepare particularly carefully for their engineering discipline because Part III alone accounts for 100 of the 160 questions.

HAL Service Agreement Bond

Candidates finally selected for the DT and MT posts will be required to execute a Service Agreement Bond. Under the prescribed conditions, they must serve HAL for five years, excluding the 52-week training period.

If a candidate breaches the service agreement, the individual may be required to reimburse the actual training expenses incurred by HAL, subject to a maximum amount of Rs. 15 lakh. Candidates should therefore understand the service commitment and bond conditions before joining.
