AIIMS Guwahati Faculty Recruitment 2026: 63 Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor Vacancies

• AIIMS Guwahati has announced 63 Group-A Faculty vacancies for Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts across 31 departments.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati has invited applications for 63 Group-A Faculty vacancies under its rolling recruitment advertisement covering Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor positions. The current recruitment cycle has a second cut-off date of September 15, 2026 for online applications. Educational Qualification and Experience

Eligibility varies according to faculty grade and whether the position is in a medical or specified non-medical discipline.

Professor

For medical disciplines, candidates generally require MD/MS or the prescribed equivalent with around 14 years of teaching/research experience after the postgraduate qualification.

For super-specialty positions, the required experience is lower depending on whether the candidate holds a two/five-year or three-year DM/M.Ch qualification. Additional Professor

For specific non-medical departments, candidates may need the prescribed Master’s degree, Doctorate and relevant teaching/research experience ranging from approximately three to 14 years depending on the faculty level.

DNB candidates must provide the required equivalence certificate in accordance with applicable NMC norms. Candidates should rely on the department-wise qualification requirements in the detailed notification before applying.

Age Limit

Eligibility is to be determined as on September 15, 2026.

Age relaxation is available up to five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates, 10 years for eligible PwBD candidates and five years for Government servants, subject to the recruitment rules. No category relaxation applies when a candidate applies against an unreserved vacancy where such relaxation is not permissible.

AIIMS Guwahati Faculty Salary 2026

Faculty appointments carry 7th CPC pay along with applicable Central Government allowances. Medically qualified candidates are also eligible for Non-Practicing Allowance according to the applicable rules.

Selected candidates will also be subject to the service conditions and probation provisions specified by AIIMS Guwahati. The recruitment details state a probation period of two years.

Selection Process
