The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released the LT Grade Assistant Teacher Mains Result 2026 for the recruitment of Assistant Teacher (TGT) posts. The recruitment drive covers 7,466 vacancies across male, female and backlog categories and includes teaching posts in several subjects. UPPSC LT Grade Assistant Teacher Recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. A-5/E-1/2025. The recruitment process originally began in July 2025, with applications accepted until August 28, 2025. Subject-wise examinations and mains stages were subsequently conducted on different dates. The Computer Mains examination was held on August 16, 2026, while mains examinations for subjects including Sociology, Physical Education, Music and Hindi were held on July 11, 2026.

UPPSC has announced the Mains Result as part of the ongoing LT Grade Assistant Teacher recruitment process. Candidates who participated in the applicable mains examination should check their qualifying status through the commission’s official portal. Depending on the result facility provided for the concerned subject, candidates may be required to use their registration or enrollment details and date of birth to access the relevant information.

The recruitment covers Assistant Teacher posts in a wide range of subjects, including Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Computer, Urdu, Biology, Sanskrit, Arts, Music, Commerce, Physical Education, Home Science and Agriculture/Horticulture. UPPSC LT Grade Assistant Teacher Vacancy Details

A total of 7,466 vacancies have been notified under the recruitment drive. Of these, 4,860 posts are for the male branch and 2,525 posts are for the female branch. Another 81 vacancies have been included as backlog posts. The recruitment therefore provides a substantial number of teaching opportunities across different subjects and categories in Uttar Pradesh.

The original online application process started on July 28, 2025 and closed on August 28, 2025, with the same date prescribed for payment of the application fee. The initial examinations were scheduled between December 6, 2025 and January 25, 2026, while the answer key was released on January 28, 2026 and an earlier result stage was declared on February 5, 2026.

The Computer examination was held on April 5, 2026. Mains applications for an earlier stage were accepted from April 2 to April 17, 2026, followed by subject-wise examinations. Commerce and Sanskrit mains examinations were scheduled for April 23, while Mathematics, Home Science, Agriculture/Horticulture and Science examinations were conducted on May 16, 17 and 18. Biology, Urdu and Art mains examinations were held on June 13.

The mains examinations for Sociology, Physical Education, Music and Hindi were conducted on July 11, 2026. Separately, applications for the Computer Mains stage were accepted from June 23 to July 7, 2026. The Computer Mains admit card was issued on August 11 and the examination was conducted on August 16, 2026.

Application Fee

The application fee for General, EWS and OBC candidates was ₹125. SC and ST candidates were required to pay ₹65, while the fee for ex-servicemen was also ₹65. Candidates belonging to the PH category were required to pay ₹25. The prescribed fee could be paid online through available payment facilities such as debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS and supported wallet/payment services.

Age Limit

Candidates were required to be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years of age as on July 1, 2025. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to eligible reserved categories and other candidates according to UPPSC and Uttar Pradesh government recruitment rules.

Subject-Wise Qualification Details

Educational requirements differ according to the teaching subject. For Hindi, candidates generally need a graduation degree with Hindi and the prescribed Sanskrit qualification along with B.Ed. English applicants require graduation in English Literature and B.Ed., while Mathematics candidates need Mathematics at graduation level with B.Ed. Science applicants are required to have studied Physics and Chemistry at graduation level along with the prescribed teaching qualification.

For Social Science, candidates must have studied at least two subjects among History, Geography, Political Science and Economics at graduation level and possess B.Ed. Computer applicants can qualify through prescribed Computer Science, Computer Applications, engineering, MCA or NIELIT-related qualifications, with B.Ed. treated as a preferential qualification under the stated conditions.

Urdu, Biology, Sanskrit, Commerce and Home Science posts require the relevant subject at graduation level along with the prescribed B.Ed. qualification. Biology candidates are required to have Zoology and Botany. Physical Education candidates need graduation along with B.P.Ed. or B.P.E. from an approved course. Agriculture/Horticulture posts require a graduation degree in Agriculture or Horticulture along with B.Ed.

For Art, the prescribed routes include graduation with Art and B.Ed. or a Bachelor of Fine Arts qualification under the notified conditions. Music candidates may qualify through graduation with Music or specified qualifications such as Sangeet Visharad from Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya or Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti along with graduation and the prescribed B.Ed. qualification.
