Educational Qualification for UP PGT
Candidates applying for Post Graduate Teacher positions were required to possess a Master’s degree in the relevant subject. The exact academic requirements vary according to the PGT subject concerned, and candidates must satisfy the subject-specific conditions contained in the original recruitment notification.
For comparison, TGT applicants under the combined recruitment were required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject along with a completed B.Ed. qualification. Candidates included in the PGT waiting list remain subject to fulfilment of the educational and other eligibility conditions prescribed for their particular post.
UP PGT Age Limit
The minimum age prescribed under the recruitment was 21 years as on July 1, 2022. The supplied recruitment information does not specify a general maximum age.
Candidates should refer to the original recruitment rules for category-wise age relaxation and other applicable provisions. Eligibility can still be examined during subsequent recruitment formalities, so candidates should retain appropriate age and category certificates.
UP PGT Application Fee
General and OBC applicants were required to pay Rs. 750, while EWS candidates were charged Rs. 650. The application fee was Rs. 450 for SC candidates, Rs. 250 for ST candidates and Rs. 375 for PwD candidates.
Applicants could make the payment through the supported online facilities, including debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS and available cash card or mobile wallet options.
UP PGT Selection Process
The UP PGT selection process consisted of a written examination followed by an interview. Candidates who qualified through the written stage were called for interviews, after which the final selection result was prepared according to the applicable recruitment criteria.
The written result was declared on June 2 and interview letters followed on June 5. Interviews were held over nearly two weeks from June 15 to June 27, before the final result was announced on July 7.
The release of the waiting list is a subsequent development in the same recruitment process. Candidates included in it should follow only the official instructions regarding any further selection or appointment action.
What Does the UP PGT Waiting List Mean?
A waiting list generally contains eligible candidates positioned for possible consideration after the main selection list, subject to vacancies, recruitment rules and decisions of the recruiting authority. Inclusion in such a list should not automatically be interpreted as a confirmed appointment.
Candidates should therefore check their exact status and any instructions accompanying the UPESSC waiting-list notice. Further action may depend on factors such as vacancies remaining after the original selection process and completion of required recruitment formalities.
Candidates should avoid relying on unofficial claims about appointment and wait for specific instructions from UPESSC where applicable.
