A total of 60 vacancies are being filled through the recruitment exercise. RBI released the Officer Grade B Phase-II Result on August 25, 2026, under Advertisement No. RBISB/DA/01/2026-27. The Phase-II examination for the General cadre was conducted on July 25, while DEPR and DSIM candidates appeared on July 26. Candidates shortlisted through the Phase-II result will now have to follow the subsequent selection instructions issued by RBI before preparation of the final merit list.

RBI Officer Grade B Phase-II Result 2026 Declared

The Reserve Bank of India conducted separate Phase-II examinations for candidates seeking Grade B positions in the General, Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR) and Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM) cadres.

For General cadre candidates, the Phase-II examination was conducted on July 25, 2026. Candidates competing for DEPR and DSIM positions appeared for their respective Phase-II examination on July 26.

RBI has now published the Phase-II result on August 25. Candidates should check the official result notice carefully to determine whether they have been shortlisted and to understand the requirements for the remaining selection process.

The recruitment is being conducted for a total of 60 Officer Grade B vacancies. The General cadre accounts for the largest share, with 40 positions. DEPR and DSIM have 10 vacancies each.

RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026 Important Dates

The online application process started on April 29 and remained open until May 20, 2026. Candidates were also required to complete payment of their application fee by May 20.

RBI provided an application correction window on May 25 and 26. The Phase-I examination for the General cadre was held on June 13, while the DEPR and DSIM Phase-I examinations followed on June 14.

Phase-II admit cards were released on July 15. The General cadre Phase-II examination took place on July 25, followed by the DEPR and DSIM examinations on July 26. The Phase-II result was announced on August 25, 2026.

RBI Grade B General Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – General were required to possess the prescribed graduation or postgraduate qualification.

According to the recruitment details, candidates could qualify with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 60 per cent marks. The minimum was relaxed to 50 per cent for eligible SC, ST and PH candidates.

Alternatively, candidates possessing a master’s degree in any subject with at least 55 per cent marks could meet the qualification requirement. For eligible SC, ST and PH candidates under this route, pass marks were required as stated in the recruitment details.

RBI Grade B DEPR Qualification

The DEPR cadre is intended for candidates with specialized academic backgrounds relevant to economic and policy research.

Applicants were required to possess a Master’s Degree in Economics or one of the other prescribed postgraduate qualifications. The supplied eligibility details also include a Master’s Degree in Finance, PGDM or MBA from a recognized university or institution.

Candidates should rely on the detailed RBI recruitment notification for the precise subject combinations, recognition requirements and other conditions applicable to their qualification.

RBI Grade B DSIM Qualification

For the DSIM cadre, candidates require specialized postgraduate qualifications in statistics, mathematics or other disciplines specified by RBI.

The recruitment information states that candidates possessing a Master’s Degree in Statistics or Mathematics with at least 55 per cent marks across all semesters or years are eligible under the stated criteria.

For eligible SC and ST candidates, the minimum requirement is 50 per cent. Candidates should check the official notification for the complete list of accepted qualifications and any equivalent degree provisions.

RBI Grade B Age Limit 2026

The general prescribed age range is 21 to 30 years, calculated as on April 1, 2026.

Eligible candidates belonging to reserved categories and other specified groups are entitled to relaxation in the upper age limit according to RBI’s recruitment rules.

Candidates shortlisted after Phase II remain subject to verification of age and other eligibility requirements. Qualification in an examination stage does not by itself establish final eligibility for appointment.

RBI Grade B Application Fee

General, OBC and EWS applicants were required to pay Rs. 850 as the application fee. The prescribed fee for SC, ST and PH candidates was Rs. 100.

The payment process was conducted online along with the application and could be completed using supported electronic payment methods such as debit card, credit card and internet banking.

What Happens After RBI Grade B Phase-II Result?
