ONGC Graduate Trainee Vacancy Details

Chemical Engineering has 10 posts, Petroleum Engineering has nine, Geology has four and Instrumentation Engineering has two vacancies.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for Petroleum Engineering posts were required to possess a graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering or Applied Petroleum Engineering with at least 60% marks. Mechanical Engineering applicants needed a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.

For Chemical Engineering vacancies, candidates were required to hold a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 60% marks, while Instrumentation Engineering applicants needed a graduate degree in Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.

For Geology posts, candidates were required to have a postgraduate degree in Geology, Petroleum Geoscience or Petroleum Geology, or an M.Tech degree in Geological Technology, with at least 60% marks.

ONGC Graduate Trainee Age Limit

The prescribed age limit varies according to the discipline. For UR/EWS candidates applying under the Geology stream, the age range is 21 to 27 years. For Engineering streams, the prescribed age range for UR/EWS candidates is 21 to 26 years.

The crucial date for determining the age of applicants is July 31, 2026. Candidates belonging to categories eligible for relaxation will receive upper-age relaxation according to applicable ONGC and government recruitment rules.

Salary and Benefits

Candidates selected as Graduate Trainees will be appointed at the E1 level with a pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000. In addition to basic pay, selected candidates may receive applicable allowances and employment benefits according to ONGC rules.

Application Fee

The ONGC Graduate Trainee selection procedure includes multiple stages. Candidates will first appear for the Computer Based Test scheduled for September 6, 2026. Those progressing through the recruitment process will subsequently be considered for a Personal Interview.
