Subjects Covered in CSIR UGC NET June 2026

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination is designed for candidates from major science disciplines. The June 2026 examination covered Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.

The examination was conducted as a Computer-Based Test with objective-type multiple-choice questions. Candidates were provided 180 minutes, or three hours, to complete the examination. The question paper was available in English and Hindi.

CSIR UGC NET Educational Qualification

For CSIR UGC NET June 2026, General and EWS candidates were required to have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institution with at least 55% marks. The minimum requirement for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and Third Gender candidates was 50% marks.

Candidates pursuing a Master’s degree or awaiting the result of their qualifying examination were also permitted to apply provisionally, subject to meeting the conditions prescribed by NTA.
