BPSSC released the Bihar Police SI Prohibition Pre Result 2026 on August 12, 2026. The preliminary examination was conducted on July 12 following completion of the application process earlier this year. Candidates who qualify at the preliminary stage will move forward to the Main Written Examination, followed by the applicable physical and other selection stages.

BPSSC SI Prohibition Vacancy 2026

BPSSC is filling a total of 78 Sub-Inspector Prohibition vacancies through Advertisement No. 03/2026. Candidates must successfully complete all applicable stages of the recruitment procedure before they can be considered for final appointment.

BPSSC SI Prohibition Educational Qualification

Applicants were required to possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in India. Candidates must also satisfy all other qualification and eligibility conditions prescribed in the recruitment notification.

BPSSC SI Prohibition Age Limit

General and EWS male candidates can be up to 37 years old, while the maximum age for General and EWS female candidates is 40 years. BC and EBC candidates, both male and female, have an upper age limit of 40 years.

For SC and ST candidates, the maximum age is 42 years for both males and females. Additional age relaxation is applicable to eligible candidates according to Bihar government and BPSSC recruitment rules.

The application fee was ₹100 for candidates across all categories. Applicants were required to complete the payment within the prescribed application period.

BPSSC SI Prohibition Physical Test Details

Candidates progressing to the physical stage must meet the standards prescribed by BPSSC. For male candidates, the listed minimum height is 165 cm for General/OBC candidates and 160 cm for other applicable categories. The corresponding chest standards are 81-86 cm and 79-84 cm respectively.

For female candidates, the listed minimum height is 155 cm, with no chest measurement requirement.

The Physical Efficiency Test includes running, high jump, long jump and shot put. Male candidates are required to complete a 1.6-km run within 6 minutes and 30 seconds, while female candidates must complete a 1-km run within 6 minutes.

The high jump standard is 4 feet for male and 3 feet for female candidates. The long jump requirement is 12 feet for males and 9 feet for females.

For shot put, male candidates are required to throw a 16-pound weight to the prescribed distance of 16 feet. Female candidates must throw a 12-pound weight to a distance of 10 feet.
