Mahatma Gandhi University Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for Assistant Professor / Teaching Faculty Post

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam has invited applications for the recruitment of an Assistant Professor on contract basis in the discipline of Computer Science. This position is available at the Institute for Integrated Programmes and Research in Basic Sciences (IIRBS) for the academic year 2025–2026. The post is reserved for candidates belonging to the LC/AI category. Interested and eligible candidates who meet the UGC norms can apply offline via email within 15 days from the date of notification (6th January 2026). The engagement will be purely temporary, ending on 15 April 2026, and offers a monthly consolidated pay of ₹40,000 for UGC-qualified candidates and ₹33,000 for non-UGC qualified candidates (if no UGC-qualified applicants are available).

Education Qualification

• Candidates must possess qualifications as per UGC norms for the post of Assistant Professor in Computer Science.
• Applicants with degrees from outside Kerala must provide an equivalency/eligibility certificate issued by Mahatma Gandhi University.

Salary

• ₹40,000 per month for UGC qualified candidates
• ₹33,000 per month for non-UGC qualified candidates (considered only if no UGC-qualified applicants are available)

Age Limit

• Governed by UGC regulations
• Retired teachers may also apply, provided they do not exceed 70 years of age as on 01 January 2026
