GBPSSI Recruitment 2025 for 20+ Teaching Faculty, Assistant, Associate, and Professor Posts

Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute (GBPSSI), a constituent institute of the University of Allahabad, has announced the recruitment of faculty positions under Advertisement No. GBPSSI/Estt./Fac. Rect./01-2025. The institute is inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. A total of 20 vacancies are available across different departments. Candidates must meet the qualifications as per UGC Regulations 2018 and should apply online through the official recruitment portal. The last date to submit the online application and pay the fee is 4th August 2025, while the hard copy of the application must reach the institute by 11th August 2025.

Eligibility criteria and requirement

Candidates must fulfill the academic qualifications and experience requirements as per UGC Regulations 2018. Age limit will be governed by the norms set by UGC and the University of Allahabad. Applicants must have excellent academic records, relevant teaching/research experience, and publications in reputed journals, wherever required.

Education

For Assistant Professor, candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject along with a Ph.D. or qualification in NET/SLET/SET.
For Associate Professor, a Master’s degree with 55% marks, a Ph.D., at least 8 years of teaching/research experience, and a minimum of 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals are required.
For Professor, candidates must have a Ph.D., 10 years of relevant experience, 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and evidence of guiding Ph.D. scholars.

Salary

The pay scale for each post is as per the 7th CPC:
Assistant Professor: Level-10 (₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400)
Associate Professor: Level-13A (₹1,31,400 – ₹2,17,100)
Professor: Level-14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200)

Age Limit

Age will be determined as per UGC norms and the University of Allahabad rules. Relaxation will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹2,000 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates and ₹1,000 for SC/ST candidates. PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the fee. Payment must be made online via the GBPSSI portal.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through screening, shortlisting, and interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview based on academic credentials and experience.

Eligible candidates must apply online through the portal gbpssirec.samarth.edu.in between 5th July 2025 and 4th August 2025 (until 11:55 PM). After successful online submission, candidates are required to send a hard copy of the application along with self-attested documents by Registered or Speed Post to:
