The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a prestigious Deemed University under the Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has announced the recruitment for Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) positions for 2026. Eligibility Criteria
Education
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Those who have submitted their thesis or are about to submit (with proof before award expiry) are also eligible. Applicants must have strong academic credentials with research publications in high-impact SCI journals.
Salary
Rs. 55,000 per month for awardees with Ph.D.
Rs. 35,000 per month for those who have submitted thesis
Rs. 2,00,000 per annum as Research Grant
Rs. 1,00,000 per annum as Overheads
Age Limit
Maximum age is 35 years as on 27 January 2026.
Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Disabled & Women; 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)

Selection Process
Selection takes place twice a year (June & December).
Shortlisting based on application review, especially those received two months before the interview.
Final selection is based on a research proposal presentation and interview by a selection committee.
