The Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bengaluru, an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has released an official notification for the recruitment of Scientist ‘B’ posts. This recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening CeNS’s research capabilities in cutting-edge areas such as Nano Science, Soft Matter Sciences, and Advanced Materials. Education

• Essential Qualification:
  Ph.D. in Physics, Chemical Sciences, or Material Sciences from a recognized university or institute.
  Preference will be given to candidates with specialization in Nano Science and Technology or Soft Matter Sciences.
• Experience:
  At least 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience in Research & Development, gained in academic institutions, industries, or R&D organizations.
  Experience must be on a regular pay scale (not on fellowships or internships).
• Desirable Areas of Expertise:
  • Nano Materials & Energy Materials
  • Carbon Nanotubes – Synthesis & Application
  • Biosensors, Clinical Applications
  • Polymer Science, Interface Science
  • Nanocomposites for Energy Storage
  • Electrochemical Catalysis, Advanced Sensing Materials

Salary

• Pay Level: Level–10 as per 7th CPC
• Monthly Pay: ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 + allowances

Age Limit

• Upper Age Limit: 30 years (as on 30th January 2026)
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Government rules applicable for other categories
