OSAP Recruitment 2025 for 135+ Gurkha Sepoy and Other Vacancies

The Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) 2nd Battalion, Jharsuguda has released a notification for the recruitment of 135 Gurkha Sepoy posts. This recruitment is open to Gurkha male candidates residing in India or Nepal. Applications must be submitted offline in the prescribed format by 10 September 2025, and the recruitment test will begin from 17 September 2025 at OSAP 2nd Battalion Parade Ground, Jharsuguda, Odisha.

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

Education

Candidates must have passed Class VII or equivalent from a recognized institution. Matriculation-qualified candidates are also eligible.

Salary

Level-5, Cell-1 as per ORSP Rule, 2017 (Odisha Pay Matrix).

Age Limit

18 to 25 years as on 01 January 2025. Relaxation is applicable for Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.

Nationality and Residency

Must be bonafide Gurkhas and inhabitants of India or Nepal.
Gurkhas residing in India must have a Residential Certificate and bonafide certificate from recognized authorities.
Gurkhas from Nepal must possess valid Nepalese citizenship.

Selection Process

Physical Test: Assessment of physical fitness and standards.
Viva Voce: Oral test to evaluate suitability and communication.
Odia Test: Assessment of Odia language proficiency.
