NPSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026: 27 Grade-III Vacancies, Apply Online by September 3

Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) has announced recruitment for 27 Stenographer Grade-III posts across various departments of the Government of Nagaland. The recruitment under Advertisement No. NPSC/EXAM-18/2023 (NPSC-3/STENO-2026) includes 24 fresh vacancies and three backlog vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD).
The NPSC Stenographer online application process will open at noon on August 21, 2026 and close at noon on September 3. Candidates who have not completed One Time Registration (OTR) must register between August 21 and September 2. Applicants must be graduates and possess the required qualifications in Computer Operation and Shorthand.
The posts carry Pay Level 8 of ₹28,700–₹91,300. The prescribed age limit is 21 to 32 years as on January 1, 2026, subject to applicable relaxation. The examination date and further details of the Stenographer Examination 2026 will be announced separately by NPSC.

The three backlog posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability. In the absence of suitable PwBD candidates, these vacancies are to be de-reserved as provided in the recruitment conditions.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for NPSC Stenographer Grade-III must satisfy all three qualification requirements:
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.
- Six-month Diploma in Computer Operation.
- One-year course in Shorthand with a speed of 80 words per minute.
Applicants should ensure that they possess the required academic as well as Computer Operation and Shorthand qualifications before submitting the online form.

Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years of age as on January 1, 2026.
SC/ST candidates are eligible for relaxation of five years in the upper age limit. Serving government employees may also receive age relaxation of up to five years under the applicable rules.
Reservation
The vacancies are reserved for eligible Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland belonging to Naga Tribes, Kuki, Kachari, Garo and Mikir communities.
Reservation for Backward Tribes will apply according to the relevant government notifications, while PwBD reservation will be governed by the applicable government orders.
Salary
Candidates appointed as Stenographer Grade-III will receive salary under Pay Level 8, carrying a pay range of ₹28,700 to ₹91,300.

- Complete the mandatory One Time Registration (OTR) process between noon on August 21 and noon on September 2, 2026.
- After completing OTR, access the application for the Stenographer Grade-III recruitment.
- Enter the required personal, educational and qualification details carefully.
- Serving government employees must upload the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).
- Pay the ₹300 examination fee, ₹25 convenience fee and applicable payment gateway charges.
- Complete and submit the online application by noon on September 3, 2026.
Applications are accepted only through the online OTR system. NPSC will not issue application forms from its office.
