NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd., has opened recruitment for 147 experienced professionals for Engineer and Executive posts in the renewable energy sector under Advertisement No. 04/26. The vacancies are available across NGEL corporate offices, stations, project sites, clusters, joint ventures and subsidiaries across India.

The NGEL Recruitment 2026 online application process began on August 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM and will close on September 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The appointments will be made on a fixed-term basis initially for three years and may be extended by up to two additional years depending on organizational requirements.

The largest number of vacancies is for Engineer (RE – Electrical) with 69 posts, followed by Engineer (RE – Civil) with 43 posts. Candidates must possess the prescribed engineering, finance, management, social-sector or language qualification along with relevant post-qualification executive experience.

NGEL Engineer Eligibility Criteria

Engineer (RE – Civil)

Candidates must possess a full-time BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engineering degree in Civil Engineering with at least 65% marks. The minimum marks are 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

At least three years of post-qualification executive experience is required in areas such as geotechnical works, piling, foundations, structural steel, tower structures or switchyard-related works. Renewable Energy experience is preferred.

Engineer (RE – Electrical)

Applicants should hold a full-time engineering degree in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical Instrumentation & Control, Power Systems & High Voltage, Power Electronics or Power Engineering with at least 65% marks, or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

A minimum of three years of post-qualification executive experience is required in areas such as switchyards, electrical testing, transmission systems, transformers, design or engineering. Renewable Energy exposure is preferred.

Engineer (RE – Mechanical)

Candidates must possess a full-time engineering degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering or Power Engineering with the prescribed marks.

At least three years of post-qualification executive experience is required in supervision or execution related to power generation in Thermal, Gas, Hydro, Nuclear or Renewable Energy projects. ME/M.Tech qualification and renewable energy experience are preferred.

Engineer (RE – Safety)

Applicants should hold a full-time engineering degree in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Civil or Power Engineering with at least 65% marks along with a full-time Diploma in Industrial Safety.

Candidates with a full-time engineering degree in Industrial Safety or Fire & Safety with the prescribed marks are also covered under the stated eligibility.

A minimum of three years of post-qualification executive experience in safety is required, preferably in the power or manufacturing sector.

Executive Post Eligibility Criteria

Executive (RE – Human Resource)

Candidates should be graduates with a minimum two-year full-time postgraduate degree, diploma or management programme specializing in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Personnel Management, or possess MHROD or MBA in HR.

The prescribed minimum marks are 65%, reduced to 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. At least three years of post-qualification executive experience in HR functions or Industrial Relations is required.

Knowledge of SAP, MS Office and Data Analytics is preferred.

Executive (RE – Finance)

Candidates must be qualified CA or CMA professionals.

At least one year of post-qualification executive experience in Finance or Accounts is required. Articleship is not counted toward this experience.

Executive (RE – CSR)

Applicants should possess the prescribed postgraduate qualification in areas such as Rural Management, Rural Development, Displacement, Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Community Development, Local Governance, Livelihoods, Social Entrepreneurship, Social Development, Sustainable Development or Development Studies.

MSW, MBA or an Engineering Graduate qualification is also included under the stated eligibility criteria, subject to the prescribed marks.

A minimum of three years of post-qualification executive experience is required in areas such as socio-economic surveys, stakeholder consultation, CSR activities, need assessment or social impact assessment.

Executive (RE – Rajbhasha)

Candidates should possess a full-time Master’s degree in Hindi with English, English with Hindi, or another subject with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or medium, as specified in the detailed notification.

At least three years of post-qualification experience is required in Hindi terminology work or translation from English to Hindi or vice versa in eligible Government, PSU, autonomous, university or recognized institutional settings.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 35 years for all advertised posts.

Age relaxation will be applicable to reserved-category candidates in accordance with Government of India rules.

NGEL Salary and Fixed-Term Appointment

The approximate CTC for the Engineer and Executive posts is ₹11 lakh per annum.

The remuneration package includes fixed and variable components, HRA, mediclaim coverage for the employee and eligible dependants, performance-linked variable pay and satisfactory service grant, subject to the detailed terms.

Appointments are initially for three years on a fixed-term basis. The tenure can be extended by up to two more years depending on organizational requirements and applicable conditions.

NGEL Selection Process 2026

Selection will involve a Computer Based Test, experience assessment, interview and document verification.

The CBT consists of a Subject Knowledge Test and an Aptitude Test.
