The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), has issued the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 01/2026 for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts. A total of 11,127 vacancies will be filled across different railway zones in India. Eligible candidates who possess technical qualifications such as 10th pass with ITI can submit their applications through online mode. The online registration process will begin on 15 May 2026 and will continue until 14 June 2026.

Large Recruitment Drive Across Railway Zones

Age Limit for Applicants
Applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply for the ALP posts. The maximum age limit is 30 years. The age of candidates will be calculated as on July 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories according to Government of India rules.
Selection Process
The selection process for the Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment will be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Boards through multiple stages. Candidates will first appear in a Computer Based Test (CBT). Those who qualify in the written examination will be called for document verification. After verification of documents, candidates must undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the health standards required for railway operations.
