Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has invited online applications for 73 internship positions under Round 3 of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) for the financial year 2026-27. The available positions cover Foreman, Lab Technician, Clerk, Pharmacist and Overseer disciplines, with applications accepted until September 6, 2026.

The internship is open to candidates between 18 and 25 years of age who possess the prescribed Diploma, B.Sc., B.Com or Pharmacy qualification for the respective discipline. The crucial date for determining age and educational qualification is April 1, 2026.

Selected interns will receive ₹9,000 per month during the nine-month training period. The programme is an internship and does not provide a right or guarantee of subsequent regular employment with Northern Coalfields Limited or Coal India Limited.

NCL PMIS Internship Recruitment 2026

Northern Coalfields Limited, a Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking under Coal India Limited, is filling 73 internship positions through PMIS Round 3. Applications must be submitted online through the Prime Minister Internship Scheme portal rather than through an offline application process.

NCL Internship Vacancy 2026

The 73 positions are distributed across six discipline/qualification combinations. Electrical and Mechanical Foreman positions together account for 33 of the available internships.

Qualification Requirements

Candidates must have completed the qualification prescribed for the internship discipline as of April 1, 2026.

Foreman applicants require a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical discipline, depending on the vacancy selected. Lab Technician candidates require a B.Sc. in Chemistry, while applicants for Clerk positions must possess a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

A Diploma in Pharmacy is required for Pharmacist positions, while Overseer applicants need a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications must be obtained from a recognized university or institute.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of April 1, 2026.

NCL Internship Stipend and Duration

Selected candidates will undergo a nine-month internship and receive a monthly stipend of ₹9,000.

The internship is intended as a training engagement under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme. Completion of the programme does not create a claim for permanent or regular appointment with NCL or Coal India Limited.

Candidates will also need an Aadhaar-linked bank account for stipend payments.

NCL PMIS Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit determined from the aggregate percentage obtained in the relevant qualifying examination. No separate written examination is specified.

Where candidates have the same qualifying-examination score, age will be considered for resolving the tie, followed by alphabetical order where required.

Selected candidates will also be required to produce the applicable documents and submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a Government Medical Officer at the time of joining.
