NCESS Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 10+ Project Scientist I Posts

The National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India, has released a recruitment notification for the position of Project Scientist I. Located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, NCESS is inviting online applications from qualified Indian nationals for 10 contractual posts in various specialized domains related to Earth Sciences. The tenure for these posts will be up to 31st March 2026, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. Interested candidates must apply online on or before 21st July 2025, 5:00 PM.

Eligibility criteria and requirement

Candidates must be not more than 35 years of age as of 21 July 2025. Age relaxation applies as per Government of India norms: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwD.

Education

Applicants must hold a Master’s Degree or B.Tech in one of the following or equivalent fields: Seismology, Geophysics, Geology, Earth Science, Marine Geology, Physical Oceanography, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Climate Sciences, Physics, or Civil Engineering. A minimum of 60% marks from a recognized institution is required.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹56,000 plus HRA. Additionally, a 5% increment will be awarded every two years based on satisfactory performance.

Relaxation: OBC – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PwD – 10 years
