The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has released an official recruitment notification for the position of Consultant in the PSP Division. Vacancy and Education

Eligibility Criteria

Education

• Graduate degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Indian or international institution.
• Specialization in drafting of legislation is essential.
• Preference for candidates with a 5-year integrated LLB degree.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of High Court-level legal practice.
• At least 5 years of experience in legislative/policy drafting and amendments.
• Experience in government legal consultancy and knowledge of international law and diplomatic norms is essential.
• Desirable: Supreme Court experience, Diploma in Immigration or Constitutional Law.

Salary

• Rs. 10 lakh per annum (subject to tax deductions)
• No benefits such as PF, Pension, or HRA

Age Limit (as on 06-02-2026)

• Minimum: 30 years
• Maximum: 45 years

Contract Terms

• Type: Full-time contractual engagement
• Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Leave: 1.5 days per completed month (max 10 days at a time)
• No TA/DA for interview
