The Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), an autonomous research institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has released an official notification for the recruitment of 14 various teaching, academic, administrative, and technical posts. Located in Navi Mumbai, IIG is known for its advanced research in geomagnetism and allied fields. The recruitment drive includes positions such as Professor, Reader, Fellow, Assistant Director, Stenographer, Clerks, and Technical Assistants. Educational qualifications range from Matric to Ph.D. depending on the post, and the pay levels are in accordance with the 7th CPC ranging from Level 2 to Level 13. Education

• Professor, Reader, Fellow: Master’s + PhD or equivalent research experience in relevant field.
• Administrative/Clerical: Graduate / 12th Pass / Matric depending on post.
• Technical: Diploma in Civil Engineering for Technical Assistant.

Salary

• Pay Level as per 7th CPC:
  • Professor-E: Level 13
  • Reader: Level 12
  • Fellow: Level 10
  • Assistant Director: Level 10
  • Assistant: Level 6
  • Steno-I: Level 5
  • Technical Assistant: Level 5
  • Steno-II, UDC, LDC: Level 4, Level 4, Level 2 respectively

Age Limit

Post-wise maximum age as on last date (10 December 2025):

• Professor: 45 years
• Reader: 40 years
• Fellow: 35–38 years
• Assistant Director: 35–56 years
• Assistant: 30 years
• Technical Assistant: 28 years
• Steno Grade-I: 56 years
• Steno Grade-II, UDC, LDC: 27 years
  Relaxation as per Govt of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen.
