India Post has announced the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 recruitment for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts across Postal Circles in India. More than 25,000 vacancies are expected under the recruitment drive, with the online application process scheduled to run from September 2 to September 21, 2026.

The Department of Posts will begin One-Time Registration for candidates on August 31. The Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) ranges from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 for BPM posts and ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 for ABPM and Dak Sevak posts. Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed the Secondary School Examination/Class 10 from a recognized Board with passing marks in Mathematics and English.

Candidates must also have studied the prescribed local language of the Postal Circle concerned at least up to the 10th standard. Applicants should carefully check the circle-wise local language requirement before choosing their post preferences.

Higher educational qualifications do not provide additional weightage in preparation of the GDS merit list.

Age Limit

Selection Process

There will be no written examination or interview for India Post GDS Recruitment 2026. Selection will primarily depend on the marks obtained by candidates in the 10th standard.

An automated system-generated merit list will be prepared from Class 10 marks, with marks calculated to an accuracy of four decimal places. Higher educational qualifications will not carry additional weightage.

Candidates shortlisted through the merit list will be called for document verification. In the event of a tie, preference will be determined according to the prescribed tie-breaking rules, including age and applicable category preference.

  1. Visit the official India Post GDS Online Engagement portal.
  2. Complete One-Time Registration using a valid mobile number and email address and complete OTP verification.
  3. Enter the required personal and Class 10 details, including Board and year of passing.
  4. Provide Aadhaar details where applicable and upload the prescribed photograph and signature. The stated file limits are below 50 KB for the photograph and below 20 KB for the signature.
  5. Complete the online application and select the desired Postal Circle, division and post preferences carefully.
  6. Upload the Class 10 certificate and other required supporting documents.
  7. Pay the ₹100 application fee online if it applies to your category.
  8. Review all information before submitting the application.
  9. Submit the form by September 21, 2026, up to 5:00 PM, and retain a copy of the completed application for future reference.
