The CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR-IICB), Kolkata, a leading research institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has released a recruitment notification for Junior Secretariat Assistant (General, Finance & Accounts, Stores & Purchase) and Junior Stenographer posts. As per Advertisement No. R&C/605/2025, the institute invites applications from eligible Indian citizens with 12th pass qualifications. The online application process is open from 28th July to 22nd August 2025 via the official CSIR-IICB website. Eligibility Criteria and Requirements
Education
For Junior Secretariat Assistant (Gen/F&A/S&P), candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent and possess computer typing proficiency as per DoPT norms. For Junior Stenographer, 10+2 or equivalent with stenography proficiency is required.
Salary
Junior Secretariat Assistant positions fall under Pay Level-2 (approx. ₹19,900 per month) and Junior Stenographer under Pay Level-4 (approx. ₹25,500 per month), with allowances as per 7th CPC norms.
Age Limit
Maximum age is 28 years for Junior Secretariat Assistant and 27 years for Junior Stenographer as of 22 August 2025. Relaxation is applicable: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years, and Ex-Servicemen as per government norms.
Application Fee
No fee for Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates. All other categories must pay ₹500/-.
Selection Process
The selection will consist of a Written Test (objective type), followed by a Proficiency Test (computer typing speed for JSA and stenography test for Junior Stenographer) and Document Verification.
