Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), a premier Defence Shipyard under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has announced the recruitment of 56 Journeyman posts in various trades for the year 2025. This includes 52 regular posts (Advertisement No. 2025/05 (J)) and 4 special recruitment drive posts for PwBD candidates (Advertisement No. 2025/06 (SRD-J)). Candidates with Matriculation (10th) and NAC/NTC trade qualifications in relevant disciplines are invited to apply online via the official GRSE website. Eligibility Criteria and Requirement
Education
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) and possess a National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) or National Trade Certificate (NTC) in relevant trades.
Examples include:
- Electrician trade for Electrician/Crane Operator
- Diesel Mechanic for Diesel Mechanic & Material Handling
- COPA/PASAA/IT for Computer Operator (PwBD)
- Plumbing/Pipe Fitter trade for Pipe Fitter roles
Additional desirable certifications such as a Crane Operator license or a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License are specified for some trades.
Salary
- ₹24,000 per month in the 1st year
- ₹26,000 per month in the 2nd year
Other allowances will be provided as per GRSE rules.
Age Limit
As of 1 July 2025:
- Maximum age: 26 years
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD
