The Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), functioning under the Armaments Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) and DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has announced its Paid Internship Recruitment 2025 program. This internship offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students to gain hands-on research experience in high-altitude agriculture, biosciences, and cold-region defence technologies. DIHAR is inviting applications for 03 paid internship vacancies across disciplines like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, E&TC, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agriculture, and Veterinary Sciences. Selected interns will work at the frontier of India’s defence research landscape and contribute to critical projects related to high-altitude operations and sustainability. The internship is for a 6-month duration with a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, and the last date to apply via email is 06th October 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

• For Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Telecommunication: Pursuing B.E./B.Tech (7th or 8th Semester) with a strong academic record (80% or 8.0 CGPA).
• For Biotech / Microbiology / Agriculture / Veterinary: Pursuing M.Tech / M.Sc / M.VSc (1st or 2nd Year) with minimum 80% or 8.0 CGPA across UG and PG.

Salary

• Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000/-

Age Limit

• Candidates should be below 28 years of age.
• Relaxation as per Government of India rules.

DIHAR Recruitment 2025 – Walk-in Interview for JRF & RA Posts [CLOSED]

Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), a premier laboratory under Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has announced recruitment for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) positions. The recruitment is for various defence research projects, and candidates will be selected through a walk-in interview scheduled on 28th August 2025 at DIHAR Base Lab, Chandigarh. A total of 16 vacancies are available, including 12 for JRF and 4 for RA.

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

Education

Candidates for Junior Research Fellow must hold B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc/M.Tech in relevant subjects, while Research Associate positions require M.E./M.Tech or Ph.D. in the relevant field from a recognized university.

Salary

JRF will receive ₹31,000 per month plus HRA, while RA will receive ₹54,000 per month plus HRA, as per DRDO norms.

Age Limit

For JRF, the maximum age is 28 years; for RA, it is 35 years as on 28 August 2025. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and PwBD (10 years) as per Government of India norms.
