DGQA Recruitment 2026: 15 Technician Vacancies, Offline Applications by August 28

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, has announced recruitment for 15 Technician (Semi-Skilled) vacancies. The recruitment covers Fitter Auto, Electrician Mate and Labourer trades at establishments in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and Sangareddy, Telangana. Eligible candidates must submit their applications offline by Speed Post, with the normal-area deadline set for August 28, 2026.

Of the 15 DGQA Technician vacancies, 11 are for Fitter Auto, three for Electrician Mate and one for Labourer. Candidates generally require an ITI certificate in the relevant trade or the prescribed equivalent Defence Services Tradesman Course. The age limit is 18 to 27 years, subject to applicable relaxation for reserved categories and other eligible candidates.

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-1, carrying a pay scale of ₹18,000–₹56,900 along with applicable Central Government allowances. No application fee is required for the recruitment.

DGQA Recruitment 2026 Notification

DGQA issued the Technician (Semi-Skilled) recruitment notification on August 8, 2026, for 15 vacancies. Applications are to be submitted in the prescribed format by Speed Post. The closing date is August 28 for candidates from normal areas, while candidates covered by the notified far-flung-area provision have until September 4, 2026.

Educational Qualification

Fitter Auto

Candidates should possess an ITI certificate in Automobile Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic, or the prescribed equivalent Defence Services Tradesman Course.

Electrician Mate

Applicants should have an ITI certificate in the Electrician trade or the equivalent prescribed Defence Services Tradesman Course.

Labourer

Candidates require an ITI qualification in any trade or the prescribed Defence Services Tradesman Course approved by the Central or State Government, as applicable under the notification.

Age Limit

Candidates should be between 18 and 27 years of age as on the closing date for applications.

Candidates claiming age relaxation must satisfy the applicable conditions and submit the required supporting certificates.

DGQA Technician Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-1 with a pay scale of ₹18,000–₹56,900. Applicable Central Government allowances will also be admissible according to the relevant rules.

1. Obtain the prescribed Appendix ‘A’ application form from the DGQA Technician recruitment notification.
2. Print the application on A4-size paper and complete it in English using block letters.
3. Affix a recent passport-size photograph in the prescribed place.
4. Attach self-attested copies of the required ITI/educational certificates, proof of date of birth and applicable category certificates.
5. Enclose one additional passport-size photograph.
6. Include a self-addressed 30 cm × 12 cm envelope bearing a ₹55 postage stamp.
7. Superscribe the application envelope with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TECHNICIAN (SEMI SKILLED) TRADE: ______, ESTABLISHMENT CODE: ______”.
8. Send the completed application by Speed Post to: The Controller, Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Heavy Vehicles), Post Box No. 20, Avadi, Chennai – 600054.
9. Applications from normal areas should reach the prescribed address by August 28, 2026. Candidates covered by the notified far-flung-area provision should follow the September 4, 2026 deadline.
