The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) (DEPwD), functioning under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, has released a notification dated 28 January 2026 for engagement of one Accountant on a contractual basis. This opportunity is open to both retired Government servants and eligible open market professionals. DEPwD Accountant Vacancy Details

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy one of the following categories:

Category A – Retired Government Servants

• Retired Government servant with experience in Administration and Finance.

Category B – Open Market Professionals

• Graduate degree in Commerce or related discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
• Working knowledge of accounting software such as Tally.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience Requirement

For Retired Government Servants

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Programme Division or Finance Division of a Ministry/Department/Government organization.

For Open Market Professionals

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance.
• Experience in government-related accounting work is preferable.

Age Limit

• Retired Government Servants: No specific upper age mentioned; must be medically fit.
• Open Market Candidates: Age limits as per Government norms (check official notification).
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted through:

• Screening of Applications based on eligibility and experience.
• Interview / Skill Assessment (if required).
• Final selection based on merit and suitability.
