BHU Recruitment 2026: 66 KVK, Scientific, Technical and Non-Teaching Posts, Apply by October 22

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi has opened applications for 66 temporary and project-linked positions at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), RGSC, Barkachha, Mirzapur and under various ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Projects (AICRP). The recruitment has been re-notified under Advertisement No. 04/2024-25 dated September 19, 2026.

The BHU Recruitment 2026 includes 16 vacancies at KVK Barkachha and another 50 positions across nine ICAR-AICRP schemes. Posts range from Skilled Supporting Staff, Driver and technical assistants to Subject Matter Specialists, Scientists and senior academic-level positions. Depending on the post, qualifications range from High School/Intermediate to graduation, B.Sc. Agriculture, M.Sc. Agriculture and Ph.D.

Candidates must complete the online application and applicable fee payment by October 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM. A downloaded hard copy of the application along with supporting documents must reach BHU by October 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM. The appointments are temporary/contractual or on deputation, as applicable, and project posts are co-terminus with the respective project.

BHU Recruitment 2026 Notification

BHU’s Advertisement No. 04/2024-25 covers positions at KVK Barkachha as well as scientific, technical and supporting posts under ICAR-AICRP projects. The vacancies span Academic Level-14 through Pay Level-1.

KVK Barkachha Vacancy Details

A total of 16 vacancies have been notified at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, RGSC, Barkachha, Mirzapur. These include scientific, administrative, technical and supporting positions.

BHU ICAR-AICRP Vacancies 2026

Another 50 vacancies are distributed among nine ICAR-AICRP schemes. These cover research, scientific, technical, clerical, field and supporting roles.

Educational Qualification

Eligibility varies considerably because the BHU vacancy notification covers positions from entry-level supporting staff to senior scientific posts.

For Academic Level-14 Chief/Principal Scientist positions, candidates require the prescribed M.Sc. Agriculture and Ph.D. in the relevant subject, along with B.Sc. Agriculture/B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and the stipulated research or teaching experience.

Academic Level-13A Senior Scientist/Head posts require a Ph.D. in the concerned or allied discipline, a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks and eight years of relevant experience equivalent to Assistant Professor/Scientist level, together with the prescribed publications and research score.

For AL-10/L-10 posts such as Junior Scientist, Subject Matter Specialist, Scientist and ASPO, candidates generally need an M.Sc. Agriculture, M.V.Sc., M.Tech or another specified postgraduate qualification in the relevant field. A relevant undergraduate qualification and NET through ICAR/UGC/CSIR is required where prescribed. The notification provides specific NET provisions for KVK SMS positions.

Level-6 positions such as Assistant, Programme Assistant, Farm Manager, Senior Technical Assistant and Head Clerk carry post-specific requirements that may include B.Sc. Agriculture, computer-related degrees, graduation with computer qualifications, M.Sc. Agriculture or relevant experience.

Requirements for lower-level technical and supporting positions vary by post and may include M.Sc./B.Sc. Agriculture, 12th standard with stenography skills, High School qualifications, prescribed experience or a valid heavy vehicle driving licence.

Age Limit

For non-teaching and KVK posts from Pay Level-1 to Level-6, the general age limits are:

Age will be determined as of the closing date for online applications. Relaxation for eligible BHU project, contractual and daily-wage employees will be governed by the conditions in the advertisement.

For scientific positions at Academic Level-10, 13A and 14, the applicable requirements are governed by UGC Regulations, 2018 and relevant ICAR guidelines as specified in the notification.

BHU Salary and Pay Levels

The recruitment covers a broad pay range from Level-1 to Academic Level-14.

Pay and allowances will be governed by the guidelines of the respective funding agency. Where specific funding-agency provisions are unavailable, BHU Project Guidelines 2018 will apply.

Application Fee

The application fee varies according to the level of the position.

Payment can be made online through the available Internet Banking, debit card, credit card or UPI facilities.

Applicants who already paid the fee while applying under the specified earlier versions of Advertisement No. 04/2024-25 do not need to pay it again when updating their application.

Selection Process

Selection for Academic Level-10 and above positions will involve shortlisting in accordance with the applicable UGC Regulations, 2018, followed by an interview. BHU may prescribe additional screening criteria or a written test for Group A positions where applicable.

For posts from Level-1 to Level-6, selection will generally involve a written test. A skill test may additionally be conducted for positions requiring specific practical abilities, including stenography and driving.

Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements, but fulfilment of minimum qualifications alone does not guarantee that an applicant will be called for a test or interview.

The advertised project appointments do not provide a claim to subsequent regularisation in a regular BHU post.

2. Register or log in and locate Advertisement No. 04/2024-25 dated September 19, 2026.
3. Select the relevant post code and complete the online application with the required personal, academic and experience details.
4. Pay the applicable ₹500 or ₹1,000 application fee unless eligible for exemption.
5. Applicants for Academic Level-10 and above posts should also complete the additional Google Form where required by the BHU Recruitment & Assessment Cell.
6. Submit the online application by October 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM and download the completed form.
7. Attach the required self-attested documents to the printed application.
8. Send the complete hard copy so that it reaches BHU no later than October 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the following address:
