The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s apex monetary authority, has officially announced the recruitment of 120 Officers in Grade ‘B’ (Direct Recruit – DR) for its 2025 panel year. The vacancies span across General, DEPR, and DSIM categories. Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree or master’s qualification in relevant fields are eligible to apply. The online application process will commence from 10th September 2025 and will close on 30th September 2025.

Candidates will be selected through a three-stage process including a Phase-I examination, Phase-II descriptive and objective test, followed by an interview. The offered salary for these posts ranges from ₹55,200 to ₹99,750 per month, along with additional allowances as per RBI norms.

RBI Grade B 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Education:

• General: Graduation in any stream or post-graduation/equivalent qualification.
• DEPR: Master’s degree in Economics or Finance.
• DSIM: Master’s in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, AI/ML, Big Data Analytics, or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in related areas.

Age Limit:

Candidates must be between 21 to 30 years as of 1st July 2025. Relaxations apply as follows:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Up to 5 years

Salary:

The pay scale starts at ₹55,200 per month, progressing up to ₹99,750 with increments. Other allowances include:

• Dearness Allowance
• Grade Allowance
• Learning Allowance
• House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Local Compensatory Allowance
• Special Grade Allowance

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹850 + 18% GST
• SC/ST/PwBD: ₹100 + 18% GST
• RBI Staff: Nil

Selection Process

RBI Grade B 2025 selection will be carried out in the following stages:

1. Phase I (Objective Test – 200 Marks, 120 Minutes)
   • General Awareness
   • English Language
   • Quantitative Aptitude
   • Reasoning Ability
2. Phase II (300 Marks in Total)
   • Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues (Objective + Descriptive)
   • Paper-II: English Writing Skills (Descriptive)
   • Paper-III: General Finance and Management (Objective + Descriptive)
3. Interview:
   • Conducted for shortlisted candidates after Phase II
