Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has issued two separate notifications for over 5,200 vacancies in different government departments of Bihar. This recruitment includes 3,727 posts of Office Assistant (Karyalaya Parichari) and 1,481 posts of 4th Graduate Level (CGL). The application process will begin on 25 August 2025 and continue till 24 September 2025 via the official websites bssc.bihar.gov.in and onlinebssc.com. This recruitment offers opportunities for both 10th pass and graduate candidates. In addition, women candidates will benefit from 35% reservation in these posts, making it an inclusive opportunity.
BSSC CGL Vacancy Details
BSSC has divided the vacancies into two main categories. The largest share of 3,727 posts is for Office Assistants in various government departments, while 1,481 posts are for CGL positions. Notably, the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department has the highest number of vacancies for Office Assistants (1,138 posts), followed by the Building Construction Department with 500 posts.

Eligibility Criteria for BSSC CGL Vacancy
For Office Assistant posts, candidates must have passed the Matriculation (Class 10) examination from a recognized board. For CGL posts, graduation in any discipline from a recognized university is mandatory.
Age Limit is Important
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not older than 37 years as of 1 August 2025. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided as per government rules:
- Women (General/BC/EBC): 3 years
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
Selection Process for BSSC CGL Vacancy
The selection process involves two stages – Preliminary Examination and Main Examination.
- Preliminary Exam: Objective type test with 100 questions worth 4 marks each (negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer). Subjects include General Mathematics (30 marks), General Knowledge (40 marks), and Hindi (30 marks). Duration: 2 hours.
- Main Exam: Candidates qualifying prelims will appear for mains (details will be notified later).
